Educational Booklets :
Allow the pupils to become the actors of their visit. On this page you will find a selection of booklets to be downloaded. Each booklet is adapted to a specific level: preschool (coming soon), lower primary (CP, CE1, CE2), upper primary (CM1, CM2) and junior high school (coming soon). The aim of the educational booklet is to assist the teacher in preparing for the visit; it includes background information and the updated version of the site map. The pupil’s booklet is a document to be filled in by the pupil during the visit. The preschool booklet does not require filling in.
Practical information :
The castle offers several suitable rest areas. Buses are invited to enter the carpark by the entrance reserved for them. On arrival, children can put their backpacks and lunchboxes/coolers in the large room reserved for groups. This room can also serve as a canteen in the event of bad weather.
Plan Your School Trip to the Heart of the Middle Ages
An Educational Visit Adapted to School Groups
Château de Saint-Jean-d’Angle provides a hands-on way to introduce pupils to the Middle Ages. As they explore the fortress, pupils discover medieval architecture, defensive walls and different areas of the castle while learning about life in medieval times. The visit helps bring classroom lessons to life through direct observation of a historic monument. It also encourages pupils to ask questions, investigate their surroundings and develop their curiosity.

Educational Activity Booklets to Support Learning
Educational activity booklets are available on request to help teachers prepare and structure their visit. They allow pupils to explore the site through activities suited to their educational level. Resources are available for different age groups, from nursery and primary school to lower secondary school, depending on the booklets offered. Teacher resources help with planning the visit, while pupil booklets encourage active participation throughout the experience. Please contact our team before your visit to find out which educational resources are available and plan a suitable learning programme.
Interactive Activities to Extend the Learning Experience
Beyond discovering the castle’s history, the leisure park offers activities that encourage pupils to observe, think and work together. Group puzzle-solving activities, for example, provide a fun way to extend the historical discovery. The castle grounds also feature spaces inspired by the medieval world, offering further opportunities for exploration and discussion. Depending on the programme and time of year, these activities can enrich the visit and encourage pupils to learn together.
